‘'a potent brew…perhaps his broadest, deepest selection of songs yet’’ - CLASH Magazine

Can You Hear Us Now is the brand new EP from singer/songwriter Harry Jay-Steele.
The EP was produced by Harry with additional production and mixing by Dilip Harris whose credits include King Krule’s ‘The Ooze’ (Mercury Nominated), Sons Of Kemet ‘Your Queen is a Reptile’ (Mercury Nominated) and Mount Kimbie ‘Love What Survives’. His influences for the EP are as eclectic as they are well informed ranging from Blood Orange and Solange all the way to Bissa and Folon. Alongside the two singles ‘Ancient Waves’ and ‘Never Have You Back’ comes two brand new compositions to complete the 4-track EP. The neo-jazz-tinged percussion led ‘I’m With You’ and the folk-laden vocal dramatics of title track ‘Can You Hear Us Now’. This creates a potent and astounding mixture of his love of finite percussion, his impressive ability to enthral through subtlety, his delicately picked guitar work and finally his stunning vocals all working together to create a truly unique body of work.

Harry describes the EP as; ‘’Can You Hear Us Now is a collection of songs that deal with loss in several shapes and forms; loss of a lover, a child, a father and yourself. The title, taken from the final track of the E.P, works as a question from the subjects in each of the songs but also as a statement from me to the listener. Overall, I wanted the sound to be spacious, church-like even. It has a minimalist aesthetic but subtle complexity can be found within all aspects of the music especially in the rhythm’’.

2017 saw Harry release his debut EP ‘Reach You’, develop an acclaimed live show that saw him named as one of the Top 5 acts of Bestival in the Huffington Post and pick up support from the likes of Wonderland, Clash and Indie Shuffle.
